I met Mary (Thompson) Collins at the U of MN when we were in dental hygiene school. We were often seated near each other because of our last names, Rydeen and Thompson. Our friendship was destined to be. We had a lot in common as we were both raised on farms in rural Minnesota and shared Scandinavian backgrounds. Although we went our separate ways after graduating, we have remained in contact with each other for more than 45 years.
Mary is quite the gal. She has an infectious impact on the people around her. Her quick wit and humor is delightful. She is thoughtful, caring, inciteful and genuine. I am so grateful for our friendship and I am excited to be able to support her in this effort.

ABOUT ALS
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive, fatal neuromuscular disease that slowly robs the body of its ability to walk, speak, swallow and breathe. The life expectancy of a person with ALS averages 2 to 5 years from the time of diagnosis.
ALS can strike anyone. Presently there is no known cause of the disease, yet it still costs loved ones an average of $250,000 a year to provide the care people living with ALS and their families need. Join the movement to provide help and hope today!
