WHY WE NEED YOUR HELP
Every 90 minutes a person in this country is diagnosed with ALS and every 90 minutes another person will lose their battle against this disease. ALS occurs throughout the world with no racial, ethnic, or socioeconomic boundaries.
That’s why we’re participating in the Walk to Defeat ALS. To bring hope. To raise awareness. To provide resources and services to families free of charge. To help unlock the mystery of ALS and find the key to treatments a cure. Will you join us?
Jeff's Story
The ALS Association leads the way in global research and helps 20,000 Americans living with ALS. One of those special people is our brother-in-law, Jeff Orr.
Jeff (50) is a husband to my sister and father to their two wonderful kids (Lane 19 and Shelbe 14.) Jeff worked for the City of Mesa and in the fall of 2019 he noticed his arm strength was depleting. My sister, Carol, also noticed that his arms were losing their muscle tone. After extensive tests, the family got the devastating news that Jeff has ALS. Needless to say we who love Jeff (and there are many of us) are numb.
We have a way to help with the ALS fight! On August 21st at 9:00 am we will be walking for a cure at the Memorial Park Bandshell. Please join us here at Whitesell Financial Group to support the ALS Association. If you have any questions or would like to join our team please contact us at suzie@wfgllp.com or our office at 605.348.1152.
ABOUT ALS
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive, fatal neuromuscular disease that slowly robs the body of its ability to walk, speak, swallow and breathe. The life expectancy of a person with ALS averages 2 to 5 years from the time of diagnosis.
ALS can strike anyone. Presently there is no known cause of the disease, yet it still costs loved ones an average of $250,000 a year to provide the care people living with ALS and their families need. Join the movement to provide help and hope today!
