Of Goal

Fundraising through the Walk drives bold and urgent innovation as we march together toward a treatment and ultimately a cure for ALS.

The Local Connection
Your participation in the Walk to Defeat ALS has a direct impact on people living with ALS and their families at the local level. Through education, support groups, access to care and advocacy, we are working to defeat ALS and provide hope to people living with ALS and their families.

Many of you in our ALS community may have questions and concerns related to the spread of the coronavirus, known as COVID-19. We are closely monitoring local and national government health agency guidance on this evolving situation. Our first priority is the safety and well-being of people with ALS, their families and caregivers, and our staff.

We are exploring a number of scenarios relating to upcoming Chapter events, including the Mankato Walk to Defeat ALS. We will notify participants via email and social media on alternative plans as needed.

For the most recent information about the coronavirus (COVID-19), The ALS Association recommends that you reference the websites for the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO).

Catherine Ann Claude

I walk because 13 family members have died from ALS. I want to help find a cure or treatment so more family members will not have to die from this disease.

Karen R.

I want to fight with other patients and families to bring us closer to a cure. Walk Day reminds me I am not alone in this fight.

Chris Douglas

The ALS Association supports me and my family in significant ways! They understand ALS, which allows them to empathize with what we are dealing with and prepare us for what is next.
