2007 Gala Dinner of Champions Wrap Up

The Fifth Annual Dinner of Champions, A Gala Event, was held November 15, 2007.  Along with 330 guests, we were proud to honor Mike Metzger, CEO/President of Minnesota Air, and Carrier for their years of philanthropic work with The ALS Association, Minnesota Chapter. 

Once again, we were overwhelmed with the commitment and support offered by Wheaties, our title sponsor, and the generosity of all our table sponsors.  We extend our sincerest appreciation to all of you.  Your unwavering commitment to our cause empowers us to continue our fundraising efforts year after year. 

Former Minnesota Twin, Kent Hrbek

Former Minnesota Twins Kent Hrbek and Terry Steinbach, along with former NHL hockey players, Jim Johnson and Darby Hendrickson, were on hand to help toast Mike and his employees.  Our emcee for the evening was Eric Gislason, host and producer of Kent Hrbek Outdoors.

We also want to thank our generous auction donors.  Our silent auction featured 100 unique and exciting packages.  Our live auction offered eight exclusive packages.  We were excited by the support of our guests as we raised more than $37,000 at both auctions.

A special thank you goes to the committee members and board members who worked so diligently to pull this together.  In addition, the volunteers who assisted with set-up and throughout the evening THANK YOU.  Without you, none of it would have been possible. 

Last, but not least, a special thank you to Mike and Sue Metzger and all those associated with Minnesota Air/Carrier.  We’re honored to consider you family.  Thank you for supporting those living with ALS while we search for a cause and cure.
